Casco Bay Make It Happen! graduates at the I Made It Happen! Celebration at Ocean Gateway
Make It Happen! is a college readiness program that helps multilingual students build competitive academic profiles for college admission and financial aid. Make It Happen! Site Coordinators help students take challenging classes, improve their standardized test scores, develop competitive college applications, and engage in leadership, community service, and professional development opportunities. To provide academic and language acquisition support, MIH! pairs language learners in grades 9-12 with volunteer academic coaches.
Become an Academic Coach!
We are looking for volunteer academic coaches who have a genuine desire to motivate students to excel academically. Empower youth by setting high expectations, helping them succeed in school, and modeling success!
Coaches meet with students for a minimum of 1-2 hours per week for at least one academic semester (September to January or January to May/11 weeks). Coaches meet with students at one of our three high school academic centers. Hours are typically Monday through Friday, after school and in the day during study periods.
